Home Economics teacher Sharon Scharf, shows her first period class how to make hoecakes in honor of George Washington, Aug. 27. During the summer, Scharf, took a trip to George Washington's Grist Mill and distillery to learn about his life.
After visiting, she decided to incorporate what she had learned during her trip in her Home Economics class. Since hoecakes were George Washington's favorite breakfast she decided to make them in her Home Economics class.
For more information about the Home Economic hoecakes, read the upcoming article by The Feather Staff.

My husband has requested hoe cakes for breakfast this week end. I made some corn cob jelly to go on them!
