It boggles my mind to think about this being my final year in high school. Coming to FC in eighth grade was one of the best things I could ever have dreamed of. I know God has really blessed me with the opportunity to attend a Christian school where I can grow academically, mentally and spiritually.
As my third and last year on The Feather staff, I am thrilled for a year filled with crazy experiences and life lessons that will mold me more into the person God has purposed me to be. Though I realize there will be challenges, I am ready to apply all I have learned from Stobbe, former staffers and my past examples.
Though journalism can occupy a good amount of my time, I continue to enjoy playing soccer on the school team, being involved with CSF, Spanish Club and Sister-to-Sister, and spending time with my family and friends.
One of the big lessons God challenged me with this summer is to love unconditionally. My hope throughout this year, and the rest of my life, is to consistently be striving to love others because God first loved me. Often times it's easy to ignore those who are different from you or who seem like the "unlovely," but my prayer is that I will step outside myself and seek out the lost.
I know this year will fly by, so I am ready to embrace each moment of my senior year and look forward to seeing how God will change lives throughout the school year. May 2012-'13 be a year impacted by Christ!
"I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ." --Philemon 1:4-6 NIV
