Running back

Hey readers, Austin here just to tell you a little about football and what has been going on. I never imagined that I would have enormous success when I joined the team this year. In fact I never imagined I would ever play football.

But I found myself on the team after I was convicted to help another FC team with low number of athletes that participated. It is a pretty cool experience: playing football under the lights and representing FC on the field. I wish I had played football earlier in my high school year, and participated in such an amazing brotherhood of athletes.

I never would have thought either that I would have had as much success as I’ve had as a first year player. Currently I am sitting at fifth in the Central Section in rush yards. FIFTH — In the whole section and I’m merely a first year player. I owe all that I can do to the amazing offensive line that has been placed in front of me, and the fantastic fullback that runs in front of me to give me lanes.

I have also been blessed to have been nominated twice for player of the week, once by a local website called “Centralvalleyfootball.com” in which I placed second behind Fowlers Hugo Martinez and again by KMJ580 for their “Big Man on Campus” competition in which I beat out the competition of three other student athletes gaining 72 percent of the vote. My numbers for the week were fairly impressive: 304 yards rushing, 5 touchdowns.

I’m so blessed to have been a part of this team, and I could not have asked for any better teammates to surround myself with. It’s overwhelming to be a part of a team that is so influencial in the school.

  1. Austin, its been so cool to see you grow in sportsmanship and in skill over the season. I’m proud to call you my friend, you were great this season. You and the rest of the team represented our school and God for all the teams in our league.

I loved seeing all you boys grow together as a team and learning to work with each other through the joy and frustration. You guys stand as a great example of what a team should be.
