A bro’s life
Feb 03
In the past couple weeks there have been two or three articles posted on the The Feather that addressed our generation. Heck, there was even a podcast about it.
Well, now we are going to get into specifics: a guy’s life in high school. Over the past month many students have grown more testy, as we are in the classic “third quarter slump.” We at The Guy Blog believe some students are growing more dramatic as they become more tired of school.

So as this cloud of depression approaches the student body, Trevor has been doing some serious thinking about the matter. How must we enjoy each other? How must we get through the walls of judgement?
Well, this is one thing we think guys do best: enjoy the simple things in life. So while we are not therapists or anything along those lines, we do have advice for those of you finding it hard to like anyone right now. Relax, enjoy the present life.
We have learned that in this life, it is not always the large things such as weddings, parties or holidays that bring us joy. It is the small things that bring us joy. It is having a spontaneous conversation with a friend as you walk by them in the hallway. Joy is found at midnight when you are out TPing a friend’s house.
We believe more specifically that life is enjoyed in the present and not in hoping in the future. Roman philosopher Marcus Aurelius wrote that all we have in this life is the present time. He believed that there is no point in wanting to live longer because the only thing that matters is our present lives.
The point we are driving home is that in high school, seniors especially, we spend our time trying to get out and have “fun” or at least what we think will be fun. When in reality the joy is right in front of us. The fun that we have occurs in ordinary life and it is usually not planned. True joy comes through spontaneous events.
