Hello everybody and welcome back to, The Nest. This week, we have a bundle of exciting news for you elementary students reading this blog!

Well everybody, the anticipation is over, the results are in for the young author contest. All kids from grades 2-6 wrote a story from their heart and three stories from each class were chosen to be picked as first, second, and third place winners. Here are the winners of each class:

Tally’s second grade: third place: Sophia Buchock, second place: Nyanza Williams, and first place: Max Hinton .

Lange’s second grade: third place: Derek DeGroot, second place: Zach Aguirre, and first place: Michael Azevedo.

Fraser’s third grade: third place: Izabella Arballo, second place: Isaac Hwang, and last but not least, first place: Michael Mar.

Ferguson’s third and fourth winners: (third grade winners) third place: Kyle Clem, second place: Caleigh Alday, and first place: Addison Schultz; (fourth grade winners) third place: Wesley Hinton, second place: Shauna Howard , and first place: Anjeli Macaranas.

Weimer’s fourth grade: fourth place: Andrea Soravilla, third place: Brittany McCann, second place: Kaylie Chien, and first place: Isabel Knee!

Lazo’s fifth and sixth winners: (fifth grade) third place: Rebekah Caroll, second place: Mark Hembree, and first place:  Emily Cox. Now for the sixth graders; third place: Erin Baudonnet, second place:  Cate Vanderkooi, and first place is tied between Daniel Chandler and Allison Hysell. The two first place winners of sixth grade will both go to open house to autograph their books.

Broersma’s sixth grade: third place: Macy House, second place: Chloe Hunter, and first place: Roman Endicott.

I think young author is a great way to express a thought into a story. Fiction or non-fiction, fantasy or biography, folktale or documentary, anyone can write a story.

I would like to especially congratulate all young author winners and I will see to the book signings at Open House!

Thank you all for reading this newest issue of, The Nest, and I hope to see you reading next week’s issue! You can always leave a comment or ask me if there is anything on your mind that I can post! Until then, keep reading!
