LETTER: National organizations tout Feather excellence

Dear Editor:

Congratulations to the staff of The Feather on another incredible accomplishment after the announcement on Feb. 28 that they are again a finalist for the coveted National Scholastic Press Association Pacemaker award. They also earned a nomination for the Gold Crown by Columbia Scholastic Press Association, March 1.

It is truly remarkable that this small staff produces an online publication that is recognized by leaders in the industry as one of the best in the country. They work incredibly hard and are dedicated to the fanatical pursuit of excellence, in part due to the guidance and leadership they receive from their adviser, Mr. Greg Stobbe. Stobbe demands excellence, and time and again they deliver.

I am so proud of all the kids who have contributed to The Feather this year. It is truly a collaborative effort, but the co-editors-in-chief, Mary Hierholzer and Nick Avery, deserve special recognition for the outstanding leadership they have provided their staff this year. And, I would be remiss, as a proud mom, if I didn't recognize the efforts of The Feather's redoubtable webmaster, David Casuga.

We, as a Fresno Christian family, are truly blessed to have such fine young men and women representing our school to a national audience in such a positive way. They should make every one of us at Fresno Christian very, very proud. Go Eagles!
