I am a staff writer for The Feather and this is my third year in journalism. I am excited for the challenges to come, as, this year, my motivation comes from the verse Galations 2:20 is " I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

One thing I did this summer was attend a summer journalism workshop in Reno, Nevada. I learned not only how to be a better writer, but also a better student.

I took this class again because I find it not only improves my writing skills, but also contributes to my improvement in other classes. Journalism has prepared me not only for writing articles by a deadline, it also has prepared me for collage.

My skill sets have been sharpened since last year, and I am excited to see what happens this year! God has lead me to this very moment and I feel that through journalism I can give voice to the voiceless.

I am excited to have relationships with new people and expand in my faith. This year is a time for everyone to grow spiritually and a year of change. As a student at this school, I feel a responsibility to try and unite the student body, and by being a writer for The Feather, I feel I can do just that.
