The Feather Online staffers jump for joy in from of Columbia University’s Low Library after earning a CSPA Gold Digital News Crown award, March 17.

Senior editors, Jenny King, Nick Leblanc, and Phillip Christopher begin the day teaching a session on ‘Elements of an award winning team’ for the 93rd CSPA spring convention 2017, but the team ended the day with a Gold Crown, March 17.

In the first session, the team presents a slide show on how to effectively run an online newspaper. Along with the senior editors, Twitter editor, Julian Castro, ’17, presents session two, ‘Social Media: Incorporate these Powerful Tools,’ which demonstrates the correct ways to use social media platforms.

The CSPA awards banquet followed the teaching sessions. The Feather was awarded with a Gold Digital News Crown from the Colombia Scholastic Press Association. The Feather Online has now earned five Gold Crowns in a row and seven since 2010.

After awards, a celebratory dinner took place at Jack’s Wife Freda. Staffers enjoyed a three-course meal of Mediterranean food.

We express our deepest gratitude to Columbia Scholastic Press Association, and to the FC community for their support and encouragement along the way.
