The girls tennis team is off to a successful start, going, 7-5, placing third in a ten team division. Under the lead of team captains, Alina Davila ’19 and Ashley Zamarripa, the girls learn while saving room for fun, and laughs.
“I kept playing tennis because I had a lot of fun with the sport and it was very relaxing which was something I wasn’t used to,” said Zamarripa.
Both captains have been playing many different kinds of sports for years, as well as just starting their senior year making them the natural choice for the team leaders.
“My job as captain is not only to lead stretches and warm-ups, but to lead the team in prayer, fun, and be an example of a good player,” said Davila.
Both participate in basketball and softball in addition to tennis. The next home game is Thursday, Oct. 4, 4 p.m. Make sure to go out and support your eagles.
