Students preform the songs in sign language as well as singing them, Nov.16.

Kindergarten and TK gather together to sing worship songs in front of classmates and parents, Nov. 16. Parents come to watch their children sing and preform songs in sign language, celebrating the last day before Thanksgiving break.

Erin Obwald, FCS parent, watch two of her children perform in the Thanksgiving show. Her children impress her by their performance. Obwald also has three other kids enrolled in FCS.

“They sang some really great songs and had accompaniment from the high school worship leader,” Obwald said. “They also did sign language to some of the songs. I had no idea what they were going to do ahead of time and I was really impressed.”

Helping the elementary students with two of their songs was high school worship team leader Daniel Garrison, as well as two high school worship team students Macie Thompson and Deborah Ingerson.

TK teacher, Kristen Hann, one of the organizers of the event, spent the last couple months training kids for the recital. Hann mentions that the goal of the recital was to teach kids to be thankful for what God performs in their lives.

“We are grateful for things in the past and we look forward to the future,” Hann said. “We teach them that when Jesus returns, we will all be renewed and restored and spend eternity with him. This all relates to the theme, ‘feast in the house of Zion’, which is one of the four songs these kids did.”
