Senior spotlight 2019: Griffin Schmidt

Senior Griffin Schmidt was one of five seniors boys to be nominated for FC Homecoming king.

As the class of 2019 looks forward to graduation, The Feather spotlights seniors in an effort to know them better. This series will focus on their time at Fresno Christian and their aspirations moving forward. This is the 2019 senior spotlight of Griffin Schmidt.

How many years have you attended FC?

I have attended FC for 12 years and am a lifer.

Where/how many colleges have you applied to for next year? Which is your top pick?

I have applied to five colleges and don’t have a top pick right now.

What do you plan on majoring in?

I plan on majoring in business finance.

Schmidt joined football his senior year, playing wide receiver and linebacker.

What is a favorite memory from high school?

Winning baseball championship 2017.

What activities have you been involved in over the past four years? 

I have been involved in ASB, varsity football, soccer, basketball and baseball.

Is there anything you would have done differently?

I would’ve tried.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I see myself turning 27 years old.

A fun fact about Schmidt is that part of his knee cap is missing.

From behind the lens, photojournalist Kaylie Clem, ‘19, broadens her entire worldview as she creatively captures transformative images. Timidly moving through her first experiences as a photographer, Clem discovered a true passion and confidence in her ability to document emotions, events and news through strategic imagery. Continuing on The Feather team this year allows her to develop stronger dynamic writing to accompany her photographs. After high school, Clem plans on attending a private Christian university, majoring in teacher education and minoring in photography. Volunteering as a mentor to junior highers through Sister-to-Sister program and as a Calvin Crest counselor, Clem enjoys encouraging her younger peers.
