Spotlight productions will be putting on the Newsies performances later in February.

The Newsies production adds additional shows to their schedule due to sold out shows, at the end of February. As spotlight production finishes up their second production of the year, they continue to rehearse five days a week for Newsies.

Fresno Christian students had the opportunity to audition for the Newsies play in October. After the parts were decided by drama teacher Megan Connors, the team started rehearsing right away.

Senior Ezekiel Fuller (who plays Davey in Newsies) shares why he is excited for this production and the friendships he has made with his co-stars.

“I am stoked for this show,” said Fuller. “There has been so much hype and it makes me so excited! It makes me a little sad to be ending my drama career but I am going to enjoy what time I have left. I am definitely going to miss the thrill of the shows. There is an indescribable you get when you have a full crowd and a good show. I love all the friendships and bonds I have made from this show.”

The dates of the Newsies productions are Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. and Feb. 28-29 at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and can be bought online at my.simplgive.com. Make sure to go out and support Spotlight productions.
