In response to California Governor Gain Newsom's California school closures and subsequent announcement by FCS Superintendent Jeremy Brown to a campus transition to alternative learning model due to COVID-19, the upcoming choir trip to Nashville, TN, to participate in the WorldStrides Festival of Gold is canceled, March 16.

Susan Ainley directs the Cantiamo, chamber, and middle school choirs in their Christmas performance, Dec. 9. The choirs perform a combination of Christmas songs and hymns for the audience before the Christmas season.

Soccer player, choir member, journalist, brother. These are only a few of the words used to describe junior Andrew Rieker. From a varsity soccer player to a chamber choir member, Rieker participates in various aspects of campus life.  While Rieker pursues choir and soccer outside of the classroom, her also works toward being accepted to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, earning a degree in aeronautical engineering. Andrews plans a career with Boeing and is interested in improving and constructing airplane engines. 

A total of 21 chamber choir members travel to Santa Barbara to perform at the annual Fall Westmont Invitational Choral Festival, Nov. 1.

The FC chamber choir awaits to depart to the Westmont Invitational Choral Festival, Nov. 1. For the past five years, choral director Susan Ainley participated in the event with her women’s ensemble. This year she presents her newly assembled chamber choir. The non-competitive festival includes performances from twelve choirs along with a clinic run by the Westmont music faculty to offer advice and compliments to the groups. FC is placed in a clinic run by Dr. Michael Shasberger, choral and orchestral director at Westmont College.
