FC girls basketball honors six seniors at the annual senior night, Feb. 5. FC defeats Wonderful College Prep Academy,45-37, at their home game. Seniors include, Julia Fikse, Ashley Zamarripa, Angelica Escalera, Macie Thompson, Hannah Este, and Alina Davila.

Winter sports are starting up, as the girls basketball team practice week days after school along with their practices starting back in August. They work through drills, plays, and condition to prepare for their upcoming season. They play in their first tournament, Nov. 19-20 in the FC gym.

Varsity girls basketball hosted the CIF Central Section Division V playoff game in the FC Gym, Feb. 21. The Eagles battled Central Valley Christian, losing the game 57-42. Although their season is over, the team made significant improvements throughout the year. Underclassman Kayla Vanderlinden, ‘20, says goodbye to her senior teammates. Despite the loss, she enjoyed the season with her team.

The most competitive time of the year for varsity girls basketball is finally underway. Girls basketball transitions from preseason games to league play. The Eagles hosted their first game against Parlier on Tuesday, January 9, in the FC Gym at 5:30 P.M. Despite being ahead for the first three quarters, the Lady Eagles lost 47-43 in a hard fought game.

Campus girls basketball is returning again this year for another season of action. This is the fourth consecutive year that there will be a high school girls basketball team, and the girls are looking to make the best of it. The team is still young and is looking to build a strong foundation for the team this season. Although the season is only just beginning, many of the girls have already put in hours of hard work and practice. The girls goal is to raise the bar and score higher than the previous years overall score of 7-20. They are putting large amounts of time, effort and commitment into this season to improve their league status.
