In my conversations with other students throughout the Valley, there is a common notion that because of its size, Fresno Christian Schools fails to accommodate the breadth of students’ interests, limiting those who want to achieve because of its size. While our school is small, that difference gives us a unique advantage.
Farewell, book blogging! It feels incredibly odd to be leaving book blogging behind. Over the past two years on The Feather, I was able to read and review 22 books while also writing articles on school events and managing high school life. Some of my absolute favorite books came from blogging here. Highlights include Salt to the Sea, Vengeance Road, and A List of Cages.
Welcome to the tenth episode of “Nailin It With Nicole”! In this series of videos, I show you how to do nail designs that are both beautiful and somewhat simple. Today we will be doing a spring design to match the upcoming warm weather! These nails equip pastel colors and gentle glitters that make an eye-catching but straightforward look.
As I was reviewing the spring shows to cull the season’s latest trends for you, I realized a couple of things. First, there’s nothing really new under the sun. Most of the themes on the runways weren’t earth-shatteringly innovative. Many of the looks are either recycled trends that pop up every few years or are modernized takes on decades-old patterns and accessories.
Welcome to the ninth episode of “Nailin It With Nicole”! In this series of videos, I show you how to do nail designs that are both beautiful and somewhat simple. Today we will be doing Ice Cream nails! Winter is beating down and I’m wishing for summer.
I looked at the calendar this morning and came to a sudden realization – there are only 10 weeks of school left! Not counting spring break, this school year will be over in 2-1/2 months and I’m not ready to think about summer plans yet.
Today we will be doing a glitter gradient! This simple and beautiful design is perfect for any time of year. This design also works with thousands of color You can match it with an outfit, correspond the colors to whatever holiday is going on at the moment, or just use your favorite colors and wear it for as long as you want!!
In each of these instances, I complied. Surprisingly, I happen to like rules. I like order. I like things going the way they’re supposed to. Do I love being told how to dress? Not necessarily. But usually, there is a reason for the regulation.
First, you need to remove any and all nail polish with pure acetone. Next, I clip and file my nails into the shape I want them to be. Then I use a four-sided buffer to smooth, buff, and shine my nails. Never buff your nails too much or too harshly, this can damage them and make them frail. Moisture is also important for your nails, so use lotion and cuticle oil to keep your hands from being dry. Finally, I put on a base coat. Even if you aren’t wearing nail polish, it’s always a good idea to wear a base coat to protect and strengthen your nails.
As exciting as it all was (at least for me), I can’t think about fashion right now. The overwhelming thoughts crowding my brain and heart at the moment involve the tragedy in Florida.
