FC football team aims for 4th straight Valley championship

After three straight Valley championship titles, the No. 2 ranked Fresno Christian football team head into their championship match up with the No. 1 ranked Mission Prep Royals, Nov. 16. This game comes prior to a Central Section 8-Man league year in which the Eagles went 10-1 and the Royals went 11-0. The final result featured the Royals coming out on top with a 45-6 victory, Sept. 21.

Eagles defeat Orcutt Academy in semifinals, 53-34

Regardless of the outcome, the Orcutt game was the last home game of the football season, Nov. 9. Leadership set a Nuthouse theme of  'Frosted Football', and provided the snow via a snow machine and the basis for the wintry theme. After the Orcutt Spartans received the opening kickoff, they soon turned the ball over to Griffin Schmidt, '19, who made his first interception of the game. However, neither team scored until the eighth minute of the first quarter.

The Fresno Christian Eagles have gone through week one of the playoffs defeating Desert High, 57-0, at home, Nov. 2. This next upcoming game is against Orcutt Academy (San Luis Obispo), Nov. 9. One of the most common injuries that occurs to athletes in today's age is the concussion. According to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. “A concussion is an injury to the brain that results in temporary loss of normal brain function. It usually is caused by a blow to the head.”

Discovering the value of hard work, physical fitness, and a development of a healthy lifestyle, students discipline themselves everyday to reach their goals. Coach Michael Fuller is one of the high school and junior high P.E coaches at Fresno Christian. Coaching physical education along with strength and conditioning, he now helps lead the after-school FC barbell club. His favorite part of coaching is watching students to improve physically and mentally.
