Student leadership: Socktober comes to an end

Student leadership is helping in charity foundations and this month the class will be doing Socktober for the Poverello House in town. Each class is welcomed to bring in plastic bags full of socks and put them in the class bins. Whoever has the most socks brought in will win a prize. High school volleyball will be playing at Parlier, Oct. 27, at 5:30 p.m. and another game Oct. 29, at home vs. Caruthers at 5:30 p.m. Come out and support the lady eagles at both games!

Student leadership: 31st annual homecoming week schedule

Greetings from FC; we are celebrating "Homecoming around the world!" FC is celebrating its 31st homecoming, Oct. 13-16. Student leadership will post starting Oct. 9 the upcoming schedule. Throughout the week there will be princess pageants at lunch so come cheer on the class princesses in the PC gym, Oct. 13-14. Each princess will have a notice on what to wear to each pageant, for more information contact Robert Foshee. For the kings and the queens, the pageant will be combined in a very exciting and new way, Oct. 15. The event will be held in the Student Ministry Center (SMC) after second period. More detail to be announced.

Students will meet near the globe at the Peoples Church parking lot at 6:45 a.m. The theme (Somewhere in Time) allows dates to dress as any decade of their choosing.

The next upcoming event is the second rally of the year, the American rally. Each class is encouraged to decorate their class section according to the theme. The class sections will be brightened up by the leadership students after school on Sept. 18.

August Night Rally

NOTS parent viewing scheduled for March 28

Night of the Stars (NOTS) is a night for high school students to dress up and watch each class' long-awaited film. With every weekend devoted to filming the movies, the time has come for parents to see their children's work. The parent viewing will be held Saturday, March 28 at 9 a.m. (the morning of NOTS) and will go through 11 a.m. in the Green Room. The theme will be following the actual event's theme as Jardin De Fleur. Snacks and drinks will be provided and all high school parents are available to come.

Career Fair: Professionals educate students

In hopes of better educating campus students on different career paths, FC hosted the 4th annual career fair, March 11. Students attended three sessions throughout the afternoon followed by a meet and greet in the court yard. The session included a variety of different speakers such as ABC 30 reporter Amanda Venegas, ultrasound technician Robyn Hill, superintendent Jeremy Brown, Engineering student Danielle St. Marie, NASA project manager Suzy Dodd, nurse Laura Sherfield, speech pathologist Christie Edmondson, Detective David Fries, CEO of High Tech Homes Jay Cobb, veterinarian Todd Conlan, occupational therapist Dorothy Siqueiros, and senior gas estimator Scott Belmont.
